ELISA
INVISO

Elisa Inviso, a young designer from Bologna born in 1994, graduated with full marks in industrial product design, fashion and communication at the Higher Institute for Artistic Industries - ISIA - in Faenza. Subsequently directed towards the setting up, obtaining a master's degree in Exhibit Design at the IED in Rome.
Elisa is an eclectic designer who has always dealt with multiple sectors and aspects of design, focusing on sustainability and the well-being of the individual, defines her design as "ethical". In her projects she wisely integrates innovation and tradition, paying particular attention to research and experimentation.
Her creative proposals arise from experimentation that seeks links between suggestions from different disciplinary fields. The works that arise from his research have an intrinsic value that aims to evoke deep and emotional meanings.
Always interested in sustainable design, she began introducing the recycling technique also in the fashion field and realizes various projects during the fashion atelier, where the importance of enhancing discarded clothes emerges, which can acquire new life.
A clear example of this is the “All Pants” project where three suitably modified trousers create a woman's dress, without ever losing their nature completely.
Another project of great interest in the fashion field is "Tailored". It was born as a design project rather than a fashion one, as the designer investigates the dressing problems of a paraplegic user.
The need to focus on the issue of physical disability was born in 2014, trying to find solutions that increase the practicality of clothing without neglecting style and wearability. After a long discussion with the user and observation of habits, the designer creates the prototype of a men's suit modified according to specific needs.
Thanks to the attention and dedication to the theme of disability not yet developed in the fashion field, in 2017 Elisa won the first prize in the Design Section, of the XII edition of the National Art Award promoted by MIUR, with the "Tailored" project, dress made during the fashion course at the ISIA in Faenza. The jury's opinion fully expresses the peculiarities of the project: "for having been able to interpret the best signs of contemporary fashion applied to a relevant theme for people with disabilities by combining aesthetic research and technical and functional constraints"
The work of the young designer was previously selected on the occasion of the XXI International Exhibition (2nd April - 12th September 2016) of La Triennale di Milano, which had the aim of collecting, mapping and selecting the most original and innovative Italian and international projects in fields of applied arts.
All pants
All Pants is a dress made following the recycle technique, that is
modify or adapt an object to a new use, without altering its essence. In this case I have overturned the original function of the trousers, giving it two different interpretations, thus creating a dress consisting of a top and a long skirt.
Three pairs of trousers are adapted to formulate a two-piece haute couture suit: two identical trousers, suitably modified, create the wide skirt with large pockets and a deep slit; an unmodified pair of trousers forms the top closed at the back with a decorative hook.
The dress is characterized and embellished with golden thread stitching that emphasize relevant details of the model.
Tailored
The project “Tailored” stems from the need to find solutions to dress people with physical disabilities who are often forced to wear sports clothes, because others are not appropriate to their condition and posture.
Meeting up with a disable guy, through observation and dialogue, made it possible to detect problems of portability of garments and to outline the characteristics of a suit comfortable and portable.
"Tailored" is the prototype of an elegant suit to which substantial changes have been made to simplify self-dressing or assisted dressing without giving up style and comfort and also suitable for mass production.
